We are delighted to launch The Great Cre8, a competition based on the arts that supports people without a home.
The event, which aims to raise money for the Society of St James (SSJ), launches this March and anybody who fancies dusting off their paint brushes, pens, poetry books or other arty equipment can register to keep up to date with the latest news here.
SSJ works with thousands of adults who are vulnerable because of homelessness, substance misuse and mental health issues.
The Great Cre8 online competition will focus on the importance of art in recovery by raising funds to help vulnerable adults discover a passion.
Organisers intend to unite The Society of St James’ many supporters through creativity to raise £5,000 towards their ‘Discover a Passion’ programme which gives Service Users opportunities to ‘Discover their Passion’ whether it be for sports, arts, volunteering, yoga, geocaching or origami.
Artists and supporters of SSJ are being given the chance to submit a piece of artwork with a theme of ‘support’ into our Great Cre8 competition. Ten winners will receive a prize combination of art and craft vouchers and exhibition opportunities.
Categoeries include Drawing, Edible Art, Painting, Photography, Poetry, Sculpture and textiles and entries are open to adults (individual and groups) as well as under 16s individual and under 16s in groups.
Want to take part? Register your interest here and we will let you know when entries open.
